Photos of Milton trying to prevent me from finishing the Fellowship of the Ring (not very hard, it's pretty boring) and just being cute in general.
Photos from Britain, have finally been downloaded and put in a gallery.

just saw the new Mt. Holyoke website. The mockups I worked on were all better, but yes, they were right in presuming that Palm Strategy + Design cannot follow through. Even less so now that I am no longer there. I just saw Palm's latest site launch, it's pretty weak: Dee/Glasoe.

XiAlliance - round 2 mockups - April, come visit and take some photos! As much as Gillian Anderson's hair and eyes compliment the design colors, I'd rather have a real picture of Michelle. She lives a 2 minute walk away but we still don't get to see her that often somehow.

Just got an email from VisiBone. Marketing from someone that's actually nice to hear from. They've got a new HTML Card that I'll have to get. Also found poking around their site this neat color picker thing: VisiBone Webmaster's Color Lab. It lets you build pallettes and see how they work together in the browser.

i'd forgotten what a pain in the butt it is to access the value of the current selection in a dropdown in netscrap until i did this server switch for Jill. had to look back at wizard's duel.

trying to keep myself occupied leads to a new desk arrangement. Just started reading The Western Guide to Feng Shui, we'll see how that goes.

i heard Gregory Fenves last night on npr. i was relieved to hear him speak, it bolstered my denial system by giving me technical details to focus on. how do people deal with stuff like this? denial gets you through some of it, concentrating on the actions which must be performed now by leaving the emotional baggage for later. but then innocent little words like ‘baggage’ bring it all flooding in. so then what? you talk to people, anyone you can find. your roommate, your co-workers before you get sent home, people on instant messenger, email, greymatter blogs, and then are left to carry on, sorely wishing your girlfriend wasn’t visiting LA for the week.

found a good use for Google's Language Translator: translating German Erotic Mags. you get some rather amusing half-english half-german statements, take a look if you don't mind a little flesh.
.Michelle - new site Cybil and I did for our friend / business partner. it's just a template at the moment. was a fun challenge getting it to selectivly flex both horizontally and vertically. next up is the old webmonkey expanding/collapsing dhtml nav..
..and the archiving begins, Mp3 Archives

Milton caught a field mouse today while on a 6 foot leash (with me attached to the other end). I'm so proud >:-}= He pounced into the tall grass, shuffled about for a while with his paws, and came out with a little squeaking thing in his mouth. He played with it, it got dark, he played with it, it stopped squeaking, he played with it some more, and then he ate it.
A couple of Texas hunters are out in the woods when one of them falls to the ground. He doesn’t seem to be breathing, his eyes are rolled back in his head. The other guy whips out his cell phone and calls 911. He gasps to the operator, “My friend is dead! What can I do?” The operator, in a calm soothing voice says, “Just take it easy. I can help. First, lets make sure he’s dead.” There is a silence, then a shot is heard..... The hunter says, “OK, now what?”

Lin Weinberg / Seating - my brother's got the first chair on the left. I don't remember where he got it, and I know it's not worth the 4,500 these guys are charging for it, but it's pretty cool nonetheless.

Desktop for Sale
Finally, after 3 months, got Windows 2000 running on my Sony Vaio FX140 laptop. It's a beautiful machine, other than the bad taste that a company like Sony leaves in your mouth. Now that it's running the only stable and compatible operating system it outperforms my desktop, so I'm cleaning up the old boy and getting him ready to sell. He's not too pokey, 500mhz, 128mb ram, the video and sound cards are top notch Voodoo and SoundBlaster, and the monitor is a really sweet AcerView 79g. Actually would continue using it but for my current mobility needs. On a completely different note Wizard's Duel is in it's beta phase. In other words, it basically works, but there are definitely kinks. I'm licensing my online editor to The National Network of Abortion Funds for their members only section blog. What else have I been up to since getting back from New Orleans? Oh, did I mention we went to New Orleans. Well yeah, we did, for the anual National Romance Writers Association conference. And now I'm working on Rakehell again. Since the old site was broken I just re-directed it to the work-in-progress .Net. There's no real home page, and just the articles section is up, but the new template is faster, cleaner, and easier to use. Once I get it all functional again we can think about putting a pretty home page back on it. Ok, back to work for me.

new client, Donna Blazey. She's from a print background, I'm working with her on a re-design of her portfolio site.

Been reading Thau's Advanced JavaScript Tutorial to brush up on creating objects for Wizard's Duel. Yeah, so I just blogged it so that I didn't have to add it to my Favorites, got a problem with that?

Monday, June 25, 2001

My game Wizard's Duel is starting to take shape. I have several functions sketched out on paper, and the rune reading formula (used to determine the success of an action) can be found on The Game page.

Saturday, June 23, 2001

Dibble and I played Mini-Golf last weekend. She got it in the elusive "far hole" on the last hole and got a free game. But the place sucks, so now I have to pay to play again since she got a free game. We'll have to make Josher play if he visits. Which means he has to visit (you listening Josher?).

Thursday, June 21, 2001

just changed the page called experience.html to portfolio.html: Porfolio now i'm looking for broken links (though I do have a re-direct set on experienc.html).

Wednesday, June 13, 2001

The Url Messenger has taken over! It is quickly becoming an extensive online HTML Editor. Might come in handy if I ever forget my laptop (with homesite) at home. I read Adrian Roselli's - How Many Spaces After a Period? article. I'm inclined to agree, anything to make these poorly rendered browser fonts more legible.

Tuesday, June 12, 2001

been playing with the textbox editing tools on my Url Messenger. will be a nice edition to the content management system i'm re-building for rakehell
Launch glassdog.RADIO(one)

My entry into the BLOGGER Template Contest: Tux Template. If you have a chance and have any experience at all with html take a look at The Code and tell me what you think.
Re-visited the Url Messenger, and added neat html writing features.

I'm learning DHTML, here's a Scrolling Layer Test with my short story Candle. It works on PC ie and netscrap, though not ns6 for some reason. I haven't seen it on a Mac yet, anyone want to test it and email me?.
We forgot to take the camera out until 4:00 on our last day in confederate territory, but here are some Savannah Photos.

Saturday, May 12, 2001

I'm working on my entry for the blogger template design contest. I'd love feedback on any aspect of it since aesthetics, cross-platform / cross-browser support, simplicity of code, customizability, and variety are all criteria to be judged. Note: click on the bow to see different color variations.

15.2MB Dragon Head QuickTime Movie I'll have to get in to the lab and render a smaller one, but here she is, my final project for modeling and shading, a dragon head.

Monday, April 30, 2001

half of a toothless dragon head, time to mirror it pretty soon. Needs horns and teeth, other than that the geometry is pretty good. Has nice edge loops (geometry following contours of form aids in articulation).

Finished my Blood Orange Turntable 759K, or for modems (or hampshire's "LAN") here's a 271K version that's a little rougher around the edges.

Tuesday, April 10, 2001

blood orangeFinally getting somewhere with this model. Have a surface that I'm reasonably pleased with, now have to go back and model the stem. Wish me luck!

Tuesday, April 03, 2001

made this nifty Url Messenger which shows that you can pass information from one page to another through the url.

Thursday, March 29, 2001

blood orangeA blood orange. My next lightwave project for Computer Modeling and Shading. The real thing looks a lot bloodier than this picture, as if you had taken an orange and injected it with blood just under the skin. Yummy. The inside is deep purple, almost black and tastes almost like a grapfruit. Yucky.

*meep*, the 'sometimes table' only shows up in a greater than 800px width window. it's backwards compatible because it uses javascript document.write
